Thursday's Temptation

Thursday's Temptation

Recall, when we last left the girls
(Bruna&Diletta), Diletta decided to 'give up' coffee, by drinking only pure coffee (see post below) & we all agreed she was
reasonably insane.

Bruna, who drinks just as much coffee,
(if not more) as Diletta
has decided to 'give up'
sweets instead.

Bruna
(On day 3 of 40, of a sweet-less life):

Diletta, you have no idea how
good it feels not having to eat sweets
anymore.

It's liberating.

 This

is

Freedom.

Diletta:

Why don't you give up coffee
then if it's so easy?

Bruna, angered by the suggestion:

Oooooh no, I'm not giving up my coffee.
I don't need freedom from that.

Hmmm, so what exactly
has happened Here?

Self-created suppression
plus self-determined salvation.

Why bother?

Save us from OurSelves.

At any rate, just to be a little villain, Diletta left a batch sweet-as-can-be homemade rugelach on the staff room table to tempt Ms.Bruna into bad behavior. Let's see if She'll take the bait...

Ingredients

1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1 egg yoke, beaten
1/2 sour cream
1/2 cup Apricot Jam
1/2 shredded coconut
1/4 finely chopped pecans

Cutter butter into flour until mixture resembles fine crumbs.

Combine egg yolk and sour cream; blend into flour mixture.

Chill dough several hours or overnight.

Divide dough into four equal portions, keeping each part refrigerated until ready to use.

Roll each part into a thin circle on lightly floured surface. Spread with 2 Tbsp of Apricot jam, sprinkle with 2 Tbsp coconut and 1 Tbsp of nuts.

Cut into 12 wedges.
Starting from the wide end, roll each wedge into a crescent. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

Let Cool

& Enjoy!
