Monday Motivations

‘It is not up to you to decide if it is good or bad,’ He, more or less would say.*

We have the choice to choose whether the glass is half empty or half full, but why can we not just be grateful for the water?

We walk to the workplace starting on a Monday, and sometimes wonder if our day will be good. Aware this answer relies solely on our own perspectives, interpretations and thoughts, on this particular morning stroll, we wonder if Warhol would be right. Perhaps it is not up to us to decide if it is good or bad and maybe we don’t need to after all. We can never predict what good will become of a bad situation and rarely foresee the bad beneath the great. So why bother to distinguish? It is for now, and that is all we know for certain.  Good slash bad, just continue.

Perseverance vs. Perspective

*Saturday mornings were made for paraphrasing Warhol & PBS documentaries. The original quote:  ‘Don't think about making art. Just get it done. Let everyone else decide whether it is good or bad, if they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art. ` Taken from,  Warhol: A Documentary Film by Ric Burns & borrowed from the local city library.
